It has a body length of 31 to 36 mm with a wingspan of 50 to 60 mm.
It has a black body with spots on the upper side of the thorax and abdomen and a white face. The spots are relatively small, the one on the S7 segment is about half the size of the segment. The pterostigmata are black.
In the male, the spots are red and become brownish with age.
The female has yellow spots.
La Leucorrhine douteuse les eaux stagnantes et les fossés des marais qui sont bien ensoleillés. D'autres plans d'eau sont également colonisés en altitude.
